Our safe rooms can be! We offer options to make our storm shelters ADA handicap accessible. Your first option is to use our standard 30 inch door and add our lightweight aluminum ADA compliant ramps. Your second option is to upgrade to our 36 inch door and add the ADA compliant ramps. We supply the larger door as well as the ramps at an additional cost. We have had some customers in wheelchairs be able to use our standard 30 inch door along with the ramps. If the wheelchair is too wide for our standard safe room door you can add the 36” ADA compliant door and have plenty of room to get inside. Our aluminum ramps are two parts so that you can have someone bring in the outside ramp after getting inside. This way you make sure to have it when it’s time to come back out of the safe room. J

Having a wheelchair accessible Tornado Alley Armor safe room in my garage gives such peace of mind. The Guardian is large enough for easy wheelchair maneuverability while providing plenty of room for the rest of the family. The ramps are lightweight, easy to position, and don’t slip when the wheelchair goes over them. It takes a few seconds to position the ramps and to remove them when we are all inside. Family members who use wheelchairs can’t hunker down in closets or take shelter in a bathtub. And the rest of the family won’t leave the disabled person vulnerable in a bad storm. The safe room keeps everyone safe.
Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.
