I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to buy an above ground safe room right now since I plan to sell my home next year. Would I be better off just waiting until I move? Or, would adding a storm shelter add to the value of my home?

Good question! The answer really depends on the kind of safe room you’re looking into. For instance, if you’re considering a typical above ground square welded box you would have to keep in mind that you may or may not get full value out of it depending on whether or not the buyer of your home wants a storm shelter.  If the buyer does not want the safe room it would be up to you to hire someone to move it because it cannot be easily done without using big equipment. The same is true for an underground in the garage floor storm cellar or outside in the backyard cellar. Those you can’t take with you if you move.

If you’re considering a Tornado Alley Armor Safe Room then I would say YES! Just one of the many great features of our safe rooms is that you can take it with you when you move. If the buyer of your home won’t give you full value of your Tornado Alley Armor Safe Room then you can simply unbolt it, put it in the back of a truck or on a small trailer and take it with you to your new home. You are our nothing this way and you get to keep your storm shelter. If the buyer does give you full value then just give us a call and put in an order for a new tornado shelter for your new house.

This is just one example of how advantageous Tornado Alley Armor Safe Rooms are over the competition. And don’t forget about our Producer Member status in the National Storm Shelter Association. This is a must have when looking at safe rooms.
